One of the things we have realized in this Pandemic, is the importance of practicality and nice design at home. With most of us in jobs, many don’t give much attention to their home interiors. But with the current circumstances, we have realized how important it is to take care of our spaces. Ever since I saw Carin Olson’s birthday party on her instagram, I fell in love with the location provided by Dior Parfum at Place Vendôme. It was magical and so was the interior of the space. I thought I would share it with you and give you an idea of how you can recreate something similar for much less. The gorgeous and timeless armchairs shown here are the famous Platner Chairs from Knoll.
Every now and then I would change something in my lifestyle and ofcourse eventually there would have to be a piece of equipment to complement it! I love taking care of my and my family’s health, and I love to use appliances and gadgets that would make my life easier and with minimum time. With a full time day job, I arrive home exhausted and just need to have everything prepared in a short time. In this post I will share my current 5 favorites.
Contrary to popular belief, designing a kids room is not as easy as it sounds. Designing a room that will be appropriate for a younger kid growing up can be tricky, as kids preferences change drastically from year to year, depending on current trends, new Disney characters, or simply just because of growing up. What is their favorite thing now, they could outgrow in as little as in a few months.
This is why I created this post, to point out the most important points to consider when designing a kids room. Links to products are all below, on images and in links.
I always get questions about credible online interior decorating courses, and I haven’t found one till I came across the program by QC Design School.
The nice thing about this program is that it really thorough, from layout plans to textiles, to styles, colors, and most importantly it teaches the business aspect of design so you can monetize your decoration work. At the end of the course you will receive a certificate and they have some nice offers if you want to take more than one course. You can add a Feng Shui course or Staging Design course and get a dual certificate at a very good price.
For payments you have 2 options: either pay in full $1348 or 12 month installments of $124.
Our Interior Decorating course teaches you how to create custom interiors from the ground up. This includes how to assess your client’s needs and prepare designs involving floor-plans, wall treatments, furniture placement and more. Step-by-step videos featuring QC tutor Angie Chapman will guide you through the process of creating a professional floor-plan. You’ll learn about color theory in home design and about a wide range of different international and historical design styles, such as Southwestern and Art Deco.
With Pinterest being the source of inspiration to many, people are constantly saving images of spaces and things that inspire them. It sometimes gets difficult when they can’t find the source of the products they like or simply something similar with lower budget in mind.
On the blog, I will post some popular interior images from time to time and help you find similar items to help you ” Get the look”.
Some brands in the design world are considered trend setters. This lovely Miami apartment is furnished by Fendi Casa as part of their advertising campaign a couple of years ago. Without further ado, I will post below a board I created with items inspired by the above living room. Each item is numbered and linked below the mood board.
Hope you like it, let me know what you think and if there are specific rooms you would like me to help you “get the look” for.
We can’t but notice the importance of lighting in any space, lighting is what creates the room’s ambience. Chandeliers and pendant lighting in particular have a special place in my heart and complete any setting, I particularly love the ones that have a sculptural effect adding glamour or style to a room. In this post I will put for your a selection of 8 beautiful and affordable chandeliers that can be used in almost any space whether a dining room, kitchen, or living room.
The first one shown above is:
Dimond Cielo 3 Light Chandelier In Antique Gold Leaf.
The transparency y and gold effect will give a beautiful and warm light.
As you probably noticed by now, I love creating room scenes and styling rooms with lovely furniture and accessories. My favorite themes usually include neutrals especially when it comes to homes. No matter what the function of the room is, I like it to be timeless and elegant. In this post, I chose gold and greyish beige (greige) tones . These pieces are perfect for a daily living room, comfortable yet elegant to receive guests as well.
Below I will be listing every item shown with links and specifications.
As an interior designer, I find all rooms important in their own ways, the bathroom specifically is the most intimate room, it is the first room you go to when you wake up and the last when you go to sleep. It should be comforting, uncluttered, nicely styled ,and fits all necessary bathroom items. For instance, I never design a bathroom without a cupboard, unless it is a stylish guest bathroom then I skip it depending on the style of the sink. Other staples are having glass shower doors as opposed to curtains. I love the mirror to be extra large and preferably with space to store medication etc..
In this board, I used large grey tiles for the entire bathroom, walls and floor, and the Chevron patterned tiles to be used on 1 feature wall, could be the one behind the toilet seat.
Below there is a description and link to each of the above products. Please refer to the relevant links for technical details. Tiles are priced either by sq. foot or piece, or by specific quantities sold by the manufacturer. Calculate quantities prior to purchasing. All details are from the links provided.
